Work your way down the list until you find the fix that works for you.

Fix 1: Perform a Clean Boot

Some Windows users believe that the problem means something is interfering with Ryzen Master Utility. Therefore, to find the culprit, perform a clean boot. Certain reports suggest that EasyTune from GIGABYTE is incompatible with Ryzen Master Utility, which might be the reason. Thus,  if you have used/are using a GIGABYTE motherboard, check if Easy Tune is installed. If it does, uninstall it before performing a clean boot.

To do so, follow these steps:

1. Press Windows+ R to open the Run window. Type or paste msconfig > OK.

3. Uncheck all services EXCEPT ones associated with your hardware vendors, like – Realtek, AMD, NVIDIA, Logitech, and Intel. To save changes, click Apply > OK.

4. Next, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and open Task Manager. Click the Startup tab.

5. Select the program one at a time that you might think is interfering > click Disable.

6. Restart your PC to apply changes.

If this fixes the problem, find out what is causing the issue by repeating the steps and disabling the remaining apps and services.

If it doesn’t help, move to the next solution.

Fix 2: Update The Driver

The problem might be due to an outdated or missing driver. When certain drivers are missing, or something goes wrong during their installation, you might face an error the “Ryzen Master not installed properly.” Therefore, to fix the issue, ensure you are running up-to-date and essential drivers.

If the updated drivers do not resolve your problem, proceed to the next method.

Fix 3: Make Change to Windows Registry

Before 2021, by deleting the AMDRyzenMasterDriverV13 and AMDRyzenMasterDriverV14 entries in the Registry, you might be able to fix the issue. However, it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Some users have come up with a newer fix that modifies the registry. Try the fix and see if it works for you.

1. Press Windows + R to open the Run window. Type regedit > click OK.

2. In the address bar, type or paste Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\AMDRyzenMasterDriver > hit Enter key,

3. In the right pane, double-click ImagePath. Delete the “\??\” before C:\Program Files (without the double quotes).
4. Click OK > reboot PC.

Fix 4: Check for Antivirus Interference

Sometimes, the security program you are running might prevent you from installing Ryzen Master Drivers properly. To avoid this, add the utility to the exclusion list. To do so, follow these steps:

Step 1. Press Windows + S, and in the search field, type firewall. Select the Windows Defender Firewall.

Step 2. Click on Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

Step 4. Select the checkbox for AMD Ryzen Master utility from the list of programs. Checkmark the boxes next to Private and Public networks. Click OK to save the change.

If you are using AVG, launch the tool > go to Home > Settings > Components > Web Shield > Exceptions and add the game to the exceptions list.

Kaspersky users need to go to Settings > Additional > Threats and Exclusions > Exclusions > Specify Trusted Applications > Add.

Fix 5: Uninstall and Reinstall Ryzen Master Utility

It may be just a faulty installation. Therefore, after ensuring nothing is interfering with Ryzen Master Utility, take the direct approach & reinstall the entire program.

1. Press Windows + R . type appwiz.cpl > OK.
2. Right-click AMD Ryzen Master and select Uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall.
3. Reboot the PC to apply changes.
4. Head to the download page and install the latest Ryzen Master Utility installer.

    Please note, if the program you are trying to uninstall is running, you face such issues. To resolve it we suggest you to close the program from the Task Manager.
