What is the difference between a Quick Scan and a Deep Scan?
Compared to Deep Scan, a Quick scan is faster and less time-consuming. Deep Scan performs a detailed sector-wide scanning and identifies deleted files based on signatures. It is in-depth, thorough, and can find the files that Quick Scan fails to detect.
How long does Advanced Disk Recovery take to recover deleted images?
The recovery time taken by Advanced Disk Recovery depends upon scanning mode and the size of the hard disk or volume. If you are running Deep Scan on a 500GB disk it will take time. Once finished selecting the files to recover and saving them onto the location of your choice is required. Make sure it is not the same as the one you are scanning.
Can I recover data from my exFAT partition?
Yes, you can recover data from the exFAT partition. Advanced Disk Recovery software supports NTFS, FAT, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, file systems.
Can I save the scan results of the current session?
Yes, you can save the scan results of the current session and can scan it again by clicking the Last Session option present on the home screen.
When you run the Deep Scan and cancel it in between, you get the option to save scan results of the current session. This means you can click the Last Session option and rescan.
What is BitLocker? Does Advanced Disk Recovery support BitLocker?
BitLocker is a full volume encryption feature that helps protect data by providing encryption to entire volumes. It is available on:
- Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7.
- Pro and Enterprise editions of Windows 8 and 8.1.
- Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions of Windows 10.
- Windows Server 2008 and later.
Unfortunately, Advanced Disk Recovery does not support BitLocker.

How to recover lost files from a formatted drive?
To retrieve lost files from a formatted drive, we suggest running Deep Scan. This comprehensive data recovery mode helps recover any type of data, lost due to any situation. To use it follow these steps:
- Run Advanced Disk Recovery .
- Select the area to scan.
- When prompted select Deep Scan > Scan now.
- Wait for the scan to finish.
- Review scan results.
- Select files to restore > Recover.
- Browse to the location where you wish to save the files > Recover.
- Wait for the process to finish.
- In the end, you will get a summary of the recovery process.
