Can I get some more help on this issue? I’ve tried everything but every option stays stuck on “cannot disconnect”, “removing device”, “restarting”, etc. but nothing happens. Bluetooth won’t connect to Zoom or Teams even if I manage to get it to connect to the computer. It’s the same for all three of my different headsets and speakers.

    Hello Amanda

If none of the shared solutions helped fix the Bluetooth error, it seems there is an issue with your Bluetooth adapter. However, before you buy a new one, you can try these alternate steps:

    1. Uninstall your Bluetooth adapter from the Device Manager > Restart your PC to install the default driver. Now try to use the device. It should work.

    2. To connect with Teams follow these steps:

Open Teams app – Click your picture on the top right – Settings – Permissions – Media permission should be ON.
In Devices – Check for Audio Devices – The connected Bluetooth device should be selected by default. If not, select it properly.

Note:- Not having the right microphone/speaker selected is a major cause of this issue.

    3. For Zoom –

Check that the connected microphone, speakers, or headphones are not muted.
Unplug the device and replug it.
The Bluetooth device should be supported USB device for Zoom and turned on and connected properly.

Note: If any other application is using the microphone at the same time, you might face audio issues.

    4. Lastly, consult a hardware expert who can help you troubleshoot issues with your Bluetooth adapter.

    Regards

When bluetooth paired devices in Windows fail to be removed or fail to connect, check the adapter has not been changed and is the exact same one that was used to pair the device, I had this problem after trying several adapters and not until the original was used then all was back to normal.

I upgrading my stationary computer, and were having two different Bluetooth USB dongles. And a lot of bluetooth problems. One of them that I could not remove my Marchall Major IV phones on my old computer. (A solution is to remove the pairing in the control pannel Blutooth section, but this did not work, so I was stuck)
I tried just about anything, the Headphones phones did not work, and I could not remove them from Bluetooth. Then I suddenly found the solution, when I switched back the two different Bluetooth USB adapters. Apparently you can only remove a bluetooth device, if you are using the same adapter, that you applied (both adapters were Blueooth V 5.0)

THANK YOU! How I didn’t remember to show disabled devices after 30+ years of IT experience is beyond me but your post finally solved my gigantic headache of microsofts shittyness. Great work. Thanks again. I have updated this computer quite a few times so i found hundreds (or even thousands) of inactive devices. All the old cpus going back to the first threadripper, then intel cpus, amd cpus, all sorts of stuff, but finally was able to remove the game controller that was preventing any other controllers from working!

Thanks again. Wish someone would write a script to delete all these inactive devices automatically. Unsurprisingly my pc even seems faster after fixing this. it certainly boots quicker.
