How To Clear Your Browser Cookies

Preeti Seth

September 7th, 2022

,

Not all cookies are edible. Some cookies (created while browsing the internet) are used to track you digitally and are intrusive. If you’re concerned about online privacy, it’s time to learn how to clear the web browser cache and cookies. The post explains the manual and automatic ways to get rid of cookies and cache saved on the web browser.

Short on Time?

Do you not like manually cleaning cache and cookies from each browser? Worry not; to simplify things, you can use the Privacy Protector module of Advanced System Optimizer. Using this PC cleanup and optimization tool, you can boost PC performance, clean duplicate files, update drivers, free up RAM, optimize game performance, and do much more. To get the tool, click the button below:

However, before we move ahead and learn how to remove cookies and cache, let’s understand what Cookies and Cache files are.

What is a Browser Cookie?

Browser cookies are small information about the website saved on your PC. When disabled, you cannot log into websites. The data saved in cookies is just text, still enough to track your online activity.

What is Browser Cache?

When you use a web browser to visit a page, cookies get stored on your PC. The server reads these files on the other end and prevents you from entering usernames and passwords each time you visit the website. Cookies also make online shopping easy as it saves the items in the cart until you purchase them. However, there’s a downside to it; the browser cache can be used to track you.

Therefore, if you want to keep your digital identity safe, block third-party cache and cookies designed to gather information about you. But doing so can interfere with your browsing experience. Hence, the only way to stay safe and enjoy browsing is to clear cookies after each browsing session. Below we explain how you can do it manually and using Advanced System Optimizer, the best PC cleanup tool.

Final Words –

Browser cookies and cache come in handy when you visit a site frequently and need to log in each time. However, with time this data becomes obsolete and takes up unwanted space. Also, it is one of the reasons for slowing down browser performance. Moreover, cookies and cache are used by advertisers and hackers to track your online activity.

Therefore, if you want to stay safe and protected from being a victim to a cyberattack, we suggest using the steps explained above. Alternatively, you can use Advanced System Optimizer to automate the process and easily clean cache and cookies from browsers.
