There are 3 methods to download and update HDMI drivers on a Windows PC. We have explained these methods in detail.
The Device Manager is an inbuilt tool that is used to download and update drivers on your PC. It is a free-to-use tool, but it has a major limitation. This tool searched for driver updates only on the Microsoft servers, which means you may not always get the most up-to-date driver. Here are the steps to use this tool.
1. Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
2. Expand Display adapters.
3. Right-click your graphics device (Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD).
4. Click Update driver.
5. Choose Search automatically for drivers and follow the onscreen steps.
6. In Device Manager, expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
7. Right-click High Definition Audio Device or Intel/AMD Display Audio.
8. Select Update driver.
9. Restart your PC after installation.
If the issue does not resolve, then you can try to download and install updated drivers from the OEM website. This is a bit technical process and requires constant vigilance while downloading and installing the drivers. There are generally three types of graphic cards – Intel, NVIDIA, & AMD. Here is what you need to do.
1. Go to Intel’s official driver page.
2. Download Intel Graphics Driver or Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
3. Install and restart.
1. Visit NVIDIA’s driver download page.
2. Select your GPU model and Windows version.
3. Download and install the Game Ready or Studio driver.
1. Open AMD’s official drivers page.
2. Choose your graphics card and OS.
3. Download and install Adrenalin Edition.
Note : These drivers include HDMI video and HDMI audio support in one package.
If the manual methods seem too difficult or technical, then you can always opt for the automatic method which is easy and consumes less time & effort. This involves using a driver updater software like Advanced Driver Updater that requires a few mouse click to update the drivers on your PC. Here are the steps to use this software.
1. Download the Advanced Driver Updater from the link given below.
2. Double-click on the installer file that you downloaded and adhere to the online instructions to install the program.
3. After the installation process completes, launch the program using the shortcut created on the desktop.
4. Next, click on the Start Scan Now button on the home screen of the program.
5. The automatic scan will now begin and scan all the drivers installed on your PC.
6. After the scan completes, a list of driver anomalies will be presented on your screen.

8. Restart the computer after all driver updates have been completed.
