How to Make VRChat Run Better on PC

VRChat is an immersive graphic-intensive gaming application that allows the creation of virtual characters. The game is extremely popular among children and youngsters & brings a lot of customization to the table. However, there are times when VRChat does not load on the PC, or the game is stuck on connecting screen. These errors are very frustrating, and users look for ways to fix VRChat errors on Windows.

If you are also looking for the same, you have reached the correct place! This post will discuss a few ways you can make VRChat run better on a PC.

Common Errors on VRChat & How to Fix Them?

For any application to run better and smoother, all the issues that appear with them must be fixed. If you have tried using VRChat on PC, you might be familiar with the type of errors that appear while playing the game.

Some of the common errors you might encounter are –

  • VRChat not loading issues.
  • VRChat not responding on the PC.
  • Cannot connect to VRChat server.
  • VRChat keeps crashing.

These issues create a sour experience for any user as the overall experience of accessing the application needs to be improved. Fortunately, these errors can be fixed using the methods below!

Method #1 – Get Rid of Temporary Files from Your PC

When playing a game longer, your PC starts hoarding temporary game files. These files often try to enforce behavior that is not necessarily the default way of running the game. Hence, these temporary files cause the game to stay stuck at the loading screen as the loading engine for the game tries to process the requests by the existing temporary files.

The best way to deal with this situation is to remove VRChat temporary files from your PC. To do so, you need to follow a few steps as shown below –

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run Search.
  • In the Run Search, use the command %temp%.
  • This opens the folder where all the temporary files on your PC can be located.
  • Now you have two options. You can either look for the VRChat folder dedicatedly to remove. Or you can remove all the temporary files from your PC.
  • Deleting all the temporary files from your PC is recommended, as the same issues may also appear with other applications.
  • Simply select all folders and files and delete them to get rid of temporary files.
  • If you encounter such prompts, click on continue and ensure that the “Do this for all current items” condition is checked.

Once you have removed all the temporary files, restart your PC and try running the game. This should do the trick for you. If the issue persists, move on to the next fix.

Method #2 – Try Launching the Game With Specific Commands

VRChat is a virtual reality game with multiple worlds for users to explore? However, you are if you are stuck and trying to resolve the VRChat initializing world stuck issue. There is a way to skip the error and launch straight into a different world.

With the help of dedicated launch options in Steam, you can avoid VRChat stuck at the loading screen error. Here’s how you can use it –

  • Go to Steam and select VRChat.
  • Right-click on it to explore properties.
  • In properties, go to set launch options.
  • The launch option opens up a new box where you can enter dedicated lines to skip directly to the parts of the game. For instance –

    vrchat://launch?id=wrld_1a6f881b-fdd0-4551-af2c-6ef8e16577f6 (For Zarniwoop’s Avatar Dungeon)

    vrchat://launch?id=wrld_d0b62423-fd59-48f7-9e4b-e6fece81b7ed (For Hyperdimension of OziCom)

    vrchat://launch?id=wrld_69ab9cdf-5436-46bd-98b5-714837a53b4f (For X1 Seisoken City)

Use any of these, and you can open these worlds directly. This means you no longer have to get stuck for the basic maps and can instantly start playing the associated missions!

#Method 3 – Disable the IPV6 for Your PC Connection

The game uses a proper internet connection to run smoothly. When your PC has IPV6 enabled, but the network you have subscribed for does not support the same, issues like VRChat cannot connect to the server or keeps getting stuck at the home screen become a common problem.

The best way to handle the situation is to disable the IPV6 connectivity from your network settings. To do so, simply –

  • Go to the connectivity icon on your taskbar and right-click to find network and internet settings.
  • Once you have opened these settings, Go to Advanced network settings and then to More Network Adapter Settings.
  • That will bring up the connections you use in the control panel.
  • Simply right-click on the connected network and open its properties.
  • In Properties, scroll down to the IPV6 and uncheck the connection type.
  • Save the changes, and then try restarting the game.

If your ISP does not support IPV6, it will struggle to connect every time you run an online application. Hence, removing this sort of connectivity allows your PC to connect and avoid getting stuck at the loading screen of VRChat.

Method #4 – Update Crucial Drivers on Your PC

While using a graphic-intensive game like VRChat, you must ensure that all your drivers on the PC are up to date. Especially the network adapter drivers and video card drivers. These two are the crucial components; hence, any driver issue with these can cause trouble.

Now when it comes to updating multiple drivers at once, the traditional method of going to the device manager and looking for updates has become dated. It takes a lot of time to update these drivers manually.

Hence, you need a tool that does all the work for you and automates the process of updating the drivers. Advanced Driver Updater, for instance, can do the same for you!

It is easy to use, and the best part is that the entire process is reliably automated. All you have to do is –

  1. Download the application on your PC.
  2. Install and run the Advanced Driver Updater.
  3. Click on Start Scan Now to learn about outdated PC drivers.
  4. The scan will find out about the outdated drivers on your PC.
  5. Once the drivers are discovered, click Update All, and you are done.

If outdated video card drivers were causing the issue with VRChat, it would no longer cause the error. Download the tool today to experience easy fixes instantly!
