Duplicate files are multiple copies of the same file on your computer. These files may be the songs that you buy or download from the Internet, your pictures, videos or other data files which are stored at multiple locations on your system. Sometimes your Operating System may also create copies of a file. These files use up space on your computer and they also use up system resources when you want to find a file or maintain your hard disk using de-fragment or similar tools. It is also confusing when you are looking for a particular file and you get multiple search results from your computer, of the same file with the same name or different names. You cannot identify which document was edited last and your work may seem to be lost.
Duplicate File Finder is a tool which scans your hard disk for multiple copes of the same file. It scans the files not only on the basis of the name of the file, file size or the time of creation, but also on the basis of the binary data, the data on the file. This means that the results that you get are genuine and two copies of any file will be shown to you after the scan, even if they have different names of sizes for some reason. You can choose to delete the extra copies of the file, or move them to any specific folder for later review. This helps you recover important disk space and also ensures that the data on your disk is more streamlined.
